Willian: Rejected Spurs In Favour Of Chelsea

Chelsea have confirmed the signing of Brazilian midfielder Willian from Anzhi Makhachkala, subject to a work permit hearing, for a fee of £30 million.

The 25-year-old Brazilian looked set to join Tottenham after having a medical last Wednesday but the lure of Champions League football was too good for the player to reject. Willian’s transfer from Anzhi to Chelsea was made easy as Blues owner Roman Abramovich is good friends with Anzhi owner and fellow Russian Suleyman Kerimov.

John Obi Mikel Closes In On Move To Galatasaray

Mikel Leaving After Seven Year Stay

Chelsea midfielder John Obi Mikel has admitted that he is close to leaving Chelsea for Turkish Side Galatasaray.

The champions league winner has been with Chelsea since 2006 and is believed to command a fee in excess of £10 million, a fee that may be more than the Turkish giants are willing to pay. However, Mikel believes that the move should be completed without a hitch, “‘Talks have reached an advanced level between Chelsea and Galatasaray. Chelsea won’t make the move difficult and regarding my salary there won’t be a problem. All that is left is for the clubs to reach an agreement.’

Should Mikel move on, who should Chelsea seek as his replacement? Etienne Capoue? Daniele De Rossi?
