Jovetic: Attracted The Interest Of Arsenal

Manchester City have announced they have reached an agreement with Fiorentina to sign Striker Stevan Jovetic for €30 million.

The transfer fee is €26 million up front with €4 million in add-ons. Arsenal has had a long standing interest in the Montenegrin but the the Italian clubs asking price was more than what they were willing to pay. City, however, have the money to fund the move with both Mario Balotelli and Carlos Tevez having already left the club.

The Spainard signs a four-year contract at City after weeks of speculation, joining his international teammates David Silva and Jesus Navas at the Premier League club.

Stat: Only 6 players in Europe’s top five leagues have scored more goals than Negredo’s 25 in 2012-13.

Bayern Munich have confirmed the signing of Barcelona midfielder Thiago Alcantara for approximately £22 million.

The transfer breakdown is £17.3m upfront with £4.3m in add-ons from a friendly between the two clubs.

The Spanish youngster had been intensely linked with a move to Manchester United after informing Barcelona that he wants more time on the pitch. The player decided it was best for him to leave the club to get more first team action with the current European champions, Bayern Munich, striking a deal to sign the player. Thiago also joins his former manager Pep Guardiola at the German club.

Real Madrid have announced the signing of Real Sociedad youngster Asier Illarramendi for a fee of €38 million.

The 23 year-old midfielder, who had been at Sociedad for 10 years, has signed a six-year deal at the Spanish giants and has long been hailed as the next Xabi Alonso. Illarramendi joins his Spanish teammate Isco at Madrid and is delighted to have moved to the capital, “joining Real Madrid was a unique opportunity impossible to resist”.

Real Madrid now have five members of Spain’s U21 European Championship winning squad,  more than any other Spanish side.

Villa: Will Be Playing Champions League Football Next Season

David Villa has agreed to join Atletico Madrid from Barcelona for a fee believed to be around €5.1 million.

The full breakdown of the transfer is as follows: Villa will join Atletico for 3 years for €2.1m with an additional €2m added if he enters the second year of his contract and an another €1m if he enters the third year of his contract. Barcelona will also receive 50% of the fee from the players next transfer.

Arsenal tried hard to sign the player in the January transfer window and both Tottenham and Manchester United have been linked with the player this summer, however, Atletico have moved quickly to secure Villa’s signature with Barcelona looking to raise funds for new players.
